University Centers Technical Services Rates

University Centers Technical Services offers its services to the UC San Diego campus under a recharge system. Fees cover our cost for providing services. A fee is charged for equipment use and staff time for events and meetings. 

Rates for Audio Visual Equipment and Services

Fees vary depending on the event host affiliation as well as the event location.

Our Technical Services team makes a good faith effort to accurately estimate the cost of our services based on information available at the time of the request. Changes to the agreed upon scope of services to be provided may result in additional charges. Any changes resulting in a significant increase in cost (> $200.00) will be communicated to the client for approval.

Registered Student Organizations 

Registered Student Organizations hosting events in Price Center or the Student Center generally will have free audio visual equipment at their event and will only be charged for any necessary labor. For all events occurring outside of the Price Center or the Student Center, there would be a recharge for all equipment and services provided.

UC San Diego Departments

UC San Diego Departments hosting events in Price Center or the Student Center will be charged for all audio visual equipment used as well as any necessary labor. We provide discounted rates to UC San Diego Departments. For all events occurring outside of the Price Center or the Student Center, there would be a recharge for all equipment and services provided.

Non-Affiliated Organizations

Non-Affiliated Organizations hosting events in Price Center or the Student Center will be charged for any audio visual equipment used as well as any necessary labor. We provide discounted rates to UC San Diego Departments. For all events occurring outside of the Price Center or the Student Center, there would be a recharge for all equipment and services provided.


Commonly Requested Rates for Audio Visual Event Support – some of the most popular items in our inventory. Most items require labor for setup/pickup or operation of equipment. Labor charges will be additional and calculated by the Technical Services staff based on the needs of each individual event.

Accepted Forms of Payment

We accept UC San Diego Departmental chart strings (Project/Task), all major credit cards, or checks. Payment for Student Organization events are handled through the Student Life Business Office.

Cancellation Policy

Orders canceled between 1-3 business days prior to the event will be charged for all associated labor.  Orders canceled less than 24 hours will be charged the full estimated amount.
